When Irish Shoes are Dancing….

Here’s the scoop for our March Sole to Soul.
THEME: Dancing Irish Legacies

MOViE Muse film #1: Curls the Film tells the story of a multi-cultural girl who uses traditional Irish dance to connect with her late Irish mother. The story, originally a student project, is now a film lasting 1hour and 20 minutes. Since it’s available FREE on YouTube, everyone should be able to watch it. But have a tissue handy!

MOViE Muse film #2: Riverdance: The Animated Adventure. In the 90s, the stage show “Riverdance,” with Michael Flatley and Jean Butler, popularized Irish Dance around the world. Riverdance: The Animated Adventure features music by Bill Whelan (maybe we’re related?), delightful characters, and is a sweet story. It’s FREE if you have Netflix.

These movies will lead us into a discussion of the healing power of dance, the closeness of the Irish Dance community, “black hair,” intergenerational support, the importance of finding your people.… and more.

Best of all, we’ll have Ellen Harrington, a former Irish Dance mom, with attend all of the sessions as well as other special guests. I’M EXCITED!!
